Family, have you ever noticed how certain flowers bloom right at the very beginning of spring? One beautiful example is the tulip. Tulips spend months hidden underground as bulbs. During the winter, nothing about the surface suggests that something beautiful is coming. The ground looks quiet. The soil looks empty. But beneath the surface, something is happening. Life is developing in the hidden place. Then suddenly, when the season changes, the tulip pushes through the soil and blooms in full color. What was hidden becomes visible. What was buried begins to rise. That is the picture the Lord has been placing on my heart lately. Many of God’s people have been in a hidden season—planted in places that felt dark, quiet, and unseen. There were moments where you may have wondered if anything was moving or if anyone even recognized the process you were walking through. But just because the surface looked still does not mean nothing was happening. God was working beneath the soil. And now the Lord is saying something powerful: the season is changing.
Whenever we are about to step into something new, opposition often appears. We see this clearly in the story of Nehemiah. God called Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, but the moment the work began, resistance showed up through two men named Sanballat and Tobiah. They mocked the builders, tried to discourage the people, and attempted to stop the progress entirely. Yet Nehemiah understood something important—opposition often shows up right at the threshold of breakthrough. Scripture says, “The laborers who carried the loads worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other” (Nehemiah 4:17, CSB). The people were building with one hand and holding a sword with the other. They kept moving forward even while facing resistance. For many of you, that may describe the season you have been in. You have been rebuilding your life, rebuilding your faith, rebuilding your peace, and at the same time you have had to fight discouragement, delay, and cycles that tried to repeat themselves. But the Lord is declaring that those cycles are coming to an end.
The Lord also highlighted a powerful word from the Greek language: harpagmos. This word carries the idea of seizing or reclaiming something that has been taken. There are seasons in life when the enemy attempts to rob us—stealing time, opportunities, peace, confidence, or momentum. But scripture makes it clear that thieves are required to repay what they have stolen. Proverbs 6:31 (CSB) says, “If caught, he must pay seven times what he stole.” That means restoration is not only possible—it is promised. The Lord is not just ending cycles; He is also restoring what has been taken. And the promise spoken to Abraham still stands today. Genesis 22:17 (CSB) says, “Your offspring will possess the city gates of their enemies.” Possessing the gate means stepping into authority where opposition once stood. It means the place that once blocked you becomes the place where God establishes you.

The tulip offers another beautiful prophetic picture. Before the bloom appears, there is always a hidden season underground where preparation happens where nobody sees it. But when the season changes, the bloom comes quickly. That is the picture for many people right now. What felt buried is beginning to rise. What felt delayed is beginning to move. The prophet Amos described this kind of sudden movement when he said, “Look, the days are coming—this is the Lord’s declaration—when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the one who treads grapes the sower of seed” (Amos 9:13, CSB). This passage speaks of acceleration. Blessings begin to arrive faster than expected. Momentum returns after a long season of waiting.
Some of you may feel tired right now. Waiting can wear on the heart, and fighting the same battles over and over can drain your strength. But the Lord gives us this encouragement in Galatians 6:9 (CSB): “Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.” Reaping is coming. The bloom is coming. The season is shifting. Just like the tulip rises out of the soil when spring arrives, God is bringing His people out of hidden places and into visible bloom.
Take a moment today to reflect and pray. Ask the Lord if there are any cycles or patterns He is calling you to release in this season. Invite Him to cut away what cannot move forward with you. And most importantly, allow Him to renew your faith to believe again. The hidden season was not wasted. It was preparation. And now, as the season changes, many are stepping out of the darkness and into the light. It’s time to bloom.
