“Turn Toward the Light”
Theme: Morning Devotion and Positioning
Scripture Meditation
Ephesians 6:10–11 (CSB)
“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.”
Psalm 28:7 (CSB)
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart celebrates, and I give thanks to him with my song.”
Devotional Thought
Have you ever watched a sunflower in the early morning? It lifts its face to the east before the sun even rises—ready, waiting, expecting light. That’s the kind of posture God is calling us to adopt: a spiritual readiness that leans into His presence before the day begins.
Too often, we wake up already behind—scrolling, rushing, reacting. But when we begin with God, we get ahead of what’s trying to take us under.
Ephesians 6 reminds us to put on the full armor of God, and that means more than just reciting a few verses—it’s a positioning of the heart. Before you face the world, face the One who created it. Before you pick up your phone, pick up your shield. Before you pour out for others, get poured into by Him.
This is your reminder: God is already in your morning. The moment you turn to Him, He meets you with strength, joy, and strategy. He doesn’t just want to be a part of your day—He wants to lead it.
Today's Action Step
Take 10 intentional minutes with God this morning.
Read Ephesians 6:10–18 slowly.
Visualize yourself putting on each piece of the armor.
Whisper a prayer of surrender for the day ahead.
Play a worship song and turn your face toward Him. Let that be your reset. Let that be your power source.
Reflection Questions
What usually takes your attention first in the morning? How can you shift your focus toward God?
What piece of the armor do you tend to forget or neglect? (Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word, prayer?)
What changes when you start your day in worship and devotion?
