Sunflower Devotional: Day 2

Sunflower Devotional: Day 2

 “You Were Born to Multiply”

Theme: Seeds, Soil, and Spiritual Purpose

Scripture Meditation

John 4:14 (CSB)
“But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up in him for eternal life.”

Matthew 28:18–20 (CSB)
“Jesus came near and said to them, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”

Devotional Thought

When you think of a sunflower, what comes to mind? Beauty, brightness, joy. But what you might not notice right away is the center—where the seeds are. That’s where the real purpose lies.

Each sunflower has the potential to produce 1,000 to 2,000 seeds. That’s no accident. That’s design. And just like that sunflower, you were created to multiply—to grow, to disciple, to plant what God has placed inside of you into the lives of others.

But let’s be honest—most of our spiritual growth hasn’t come from easy places. It’s come from pressing through pain, confusion, dry seasons, and tough soil. That’s because fruit is formed in pressure, and purpose is revealed in process.

Jesus said that when we drink from His water, a spring will rise up in us—and not just for us, but for others. That spring is meant to water more than your own life.

Today’s Action Step

Reflect on one major obstacle or hardship you've come through.

Ask God: “What seed did You plant in me during that season?”

Write down one way you can share that seed with someone else—through encouragement, mentoring, content, prayer, or testimony.

Reflection Questions

What area of my life has produced the most spiritual growth?

Have I been pouring out what God has poured into me?

Who in my life may be ready to receive the seeds of truth, healing, or hope I carry?
