When God Calls Your Name
Before the writer of Chronicles talks about David, kings, or battles, God begins with names — nine chapters of them.
Why?
Because God always starts with identity before assignment.
These genealogies remind us of that.
1. God Remembers What We Forget
Every name—famous or unknown—matters to God.
He preserved people history forgot because He never forgets His own.
Your name is known, recorded, and valued by God.
2. God Works Through Generations
The genealogies show God weaving purpose through entire families.
Some generations rebelled, some were faithful, but God kept building.
You are part of a storyline bigger than your lifetime.
3. God Redeems Messy Bloodlines
These chapters include righteous people and deeply flawed people.
God didn’t erase them—He redeemed their place in the story.
Your family’s broken places don’t disqualify you. God can rewrite any legacy.
4. God Always Preserves a Remnant
Even in times of exile, famine, and judgment, God kept a faithful group alive.
You are the remnant in your generation—the one God preserved for purpose.
5. Before God Crowns a King, He Establishes a Lineage
These chapters prepare for David’s rise.
Elevation always follows foundation.
God is rooting you before He raises you.
