Joshua 13 & 14

Joshua 13 & 14

It’s Time to Possess What God Promised

Chapter 13 – The Land Yet to Be Possessed

Joshua is now old, and the Lord tells him:

“You are now very old, but much of the land remains to be conquered.”
Joshua 13:1 (NLT)

This chapter lists the territories that were promised but not yet possessed. Even though battles had been won, there was still more to claim. God gives clear instruction: divide the land as an inheritance even before every enemy is defeated—because faith means preparing for what’s coming, not just what’s finished.

Lesson: Just because you’re older or tired doesn’t mean your assignment is over. God still expects you to keep going—even if it’s in a different role.

Chapter 14 – Caleb's Bold Faith

This chapter is personal. Caleb, now 85 years old, steps up and says:

“I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out… Now give me this mountain the Lord promised me!”
Joshua 14:11–12 (NLT)

This is faith that remembers, waits well, and demands the promise with boldness. Caleb didn’t forget what God said to him 45 years earlier—and even after decades of waiting, he was ready to fight again. This is spiritual stamina in action!

Lesson: What God promised you is still yours—even if it’s been a long time. Bold faith says, “Give me my mountain!”

Reflection Questions:

What territory has God promised you that you still need to claim?

Are you preparing for what’s next—or only looking at what’s finished?

Do you have the boldness of Caleb to ask for what’s rightfully yours?

Today’s Takeaway:

Victory doesn’t just mean fighting—it also means receiving, possessing, and stewarding what God has already promised. Don’t settle halfway. There’s more land ahead.
