“God Will Raise Her Up”
Obedience, courage, and prophetic clarity bring victory when the Lord goes before you.

Key Themes & Insights

 God Raises the Unlikely

“Deborah, a prophetess... was judging Israel at that time.” (v. 4)

Deborah led as both a judge and a prophet—without title, armor, or traditional credentials.

Her leadership reminds us that God qualifies who He calls.

Reflection Question:

Where have I doubted myself because I didn’t “look” like the role?

Delayed Obedience Transfers the Honor

“If you go with me, I’ll go... but you will receive no honor.” (vv. 8–9)

Barak had faith, but his fear required a crutch.

God still used him—but the honor shifted to Jael.

Reflection Question:

Have I hesitated when God asked me to act? What did it cost me?

Your Tent Is A Battleground

“Jael... went to meet Sisera and said, ‘Come in, my lord.’” (v. 18)

Jael wasn’t on the battlefield—she was at home.

Her tent became a place of victory because she was willing and strategic.

Reflection Question:

What everyday space in my life is God calling me to claim as holy ground?

God Fights Ahead of You

“Hasn’t the Lord gone before you?” (v. 14)

The victory didn’t depend on strength—it depended on obedience to the Word.

God threw Sisera’s army into confusion because He had already gone ahead.

Reflection Question:

What would I pursue boldly if I believed God had already gone before me?

Journal Prompts

God, where have I been afraid to go unless someone else goes first?

How can I lead like Deborah—with humility, wisdom, and boldness?

What "tent peg" (ordinary tool) have You placed in my hand to bring breakthrough?

Take-Home Challenge:

Declare your YES. Write out one area where you’ve been afraid to lead, then commit to stepping into it this week.

Honor the Deborahs. Call, text, or pray for a woman who has helped guide or cover you in the faith.

Claim your tent. Dedicate your home, room, or daily space as a place of divine encounter and victory.

Memory Verse:

Judges 4:14 (CSB)“Hasn’t the Lord gone before you?”
