Reconciliation Without True Repentance

Key Scriptures

2 Samuel 14:14 (CSB):
“We will certainly die and be like water poured out on the ground, which can’t be recovered. But God would not take away a life; he would devise plans so that the one banished from him does not remain banished.”

Matthew 5:23–24 (CSB):
“So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.”

Colossians 3:13 (CSB):
“Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.”

Reflection Questions

Where might I be living in “partial reconciliation”—close in proximity but distant in heart?

Have I confused forgiveness with ignoring deeper issues that need addressing?

How can I approach God and others for true healing and restoration?

What practical steps can I take to reconcile broken relationships in a healthy way?
