ESTHER CHAPTER 5 – Study Guide

FAVOR IN THE THRONE ROOM: WHEN COURAGE MEETS GRACE

Scripture Focus

Esther 5:2 (CSB)
“As soon as the king saw Queen Esther standing in the courtyard, she gained favor with him. The king extended the gold scepter in his hand toward Esther, and she approached and touched the tip of the scepter.”

Study Summary

After three days of fasting and prayer, Esther puts on her royal robes and walks toward the throne room — fully aware that entering without an invitation could cost her life.

This is the moment everything has been leading to.

Instead of rejection, she’s met with favor. The king extends his golden scepter — a symbol of grace, acceptance, and divine timing. Esther’s obedience has unlocked Heaven’s yes.

But she doesn’t rush her request. With Holy Spirit-led wisdom, she invites the king and Haman to a banquet — twice. Her patience allows God to keep arranging the pieces behind the scenes.

Esther 5 shows us that when you move in courage, Heaven moves with you. Grace meets obedience, and favor follows faith.

Study Reflection: The Power of a Prepared Heart

Esther didn’t step into that throne room by emotion — she stepped in from preparation. Her fasting, her surrender, her wisdom — all of it prepared her spirit for that one defining moment.

There’s a difference between being ready and being sent. Esther didn’t move until God gave her peace to go.

Sometimes your greatest act of faith isn’t speaking — it’s stepping.

And when you do, favor will meet you there.
