Cities of Refuge
Purpose of the Cities: These cities were designated as places of safety for anyone who accidentally caused a death, protecting them from revenge until they could stand trial.
Connection to God’s Protection: Just as these cities offered refuge, God is our ultimate place of safety and protection.
Joshua 21: Levitical Cities
Levites’ Inheritance: Unlike the other tribes, the Levites didn’t receive a large portion of land. Instead, they were given specific cities within the territories of the other tribes. This ensured that they had places to live and serve.
God’s Faithfulness: By the end of chapter 21, we see that all of God’s promises to Israel were fulfilled. This is a reminder that God’s word never fails, and what He has appointed for us will come to pass.

In what ways can we trust God’s faithfulness when we’re waiting for His promises to be fulfilled?
How can we, like the Levites, find our place and purpose within the community God has placed us in?
