Joshua 10:1–5
“So Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem... became greatly alarmed, because Gibeon was a large city... So they gathered five kings against it.”
The enemy wasn’t just mad at Gibeon—they were mad about Israel’s influence.
Joshua’s obedience made him a target, but it also positioned him for a public miracle.
ARISE Reflection:
Sometimes spiritual warfare increases not because you’re doing something wrong—but because you’re finally doing it right.
Journal Prompt:
What battles have increased since I’ve chosen obedience?
When God Confirms “I Got You”
Joshua 10:6–9
“The Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid of them, for I have handed them over to you.’”
The Gibeonites cry out for help, and Joshua honors the covenant they made.
God reassures Joshua that this battle is already pre-won, even before it begins.
ARISE Reflection:
When God sends you, He secures you. Favor will follow your faithfulness.
Journal Prompt:
Has God been calling me to defend something or someone I once overlooked?
Supernatural Help in the Battle
Joshua 10:10–11
“The Lord threw them into confusion... and He threw large hailstones from the sky.”
God steps into the battlefield—confusing the enemy and sending hail from heaven.
More were killed by God’s hailstones than by Israel’s sword.
ARISE Reflection:
God will fight with you and for you when the battle is righteous.
Journal Prompt:
Where do I need to trust God to do the part I can’t?
The Boldest Prayer in Battle
Joshua 10:12–14
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon... And the sun stood still and the moon stopped... There has been no day like it before or since.”
Joshua prayed a prayer that defied time and nature—and God honored it.
This wasn’t arrogance. It was a man in alignment with God’s will, asking big because he believed big.
ARISE Reflection:
When your heart is aligned with God, your prayers can shake heaven and earth.
Journal Prompt:
What “sun stand still” prayer have I been too afraid to ask?
Complete the Assignment
Joshua 10:15–27
“Joshua said, ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord will do this to all the enemies you fight.’”
The five kings hide, but Joshua drags them out, strikes them down, and hangs them publicly.
This isn’t cruelty—it’s a prophetic picture: You cannot spare what God told you to slay.
ARISE Reflection:
Don’t leave any remnants of what God called you to conquer.
Journal Prompt:
What have I been allowing to linger that God already gave me power over?
Finishing Strong
Joshua 10:28–43
“Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.”
One campaign, multiple victories. When God is in the fight, there’s no delay or detour.
Joshua didn’t just get a partial win—he conquered everything God said was his.
ARISE Reflection:
Don’t settle for a partial promise. Keep going until you’ve laid hold of it all.
Journal Prompt:
Where have I settled too soon in something God told me to finish?
Joshua 10 shows us that bold obedience + bold prayer = supernatural results. God is still the One who makes the sun stand still and fights alongside His people.
When you’re aligned, obedient, and unafraid to pray big… Heaven moves.
