Day 3 – COMMISSION Focus Fast: PREPARE

Day 3 – COMMISSION Focus Fast: PREPARE

COMMISSION

Focus Fast: PREPARE (March 19–21)
Theme: Positioned With Purpose

Family, we have reached Day 3.

Day 1 we called.
Day 2 we consecrated.
Today, we commission.

Preparation is not only about hearing from God. It is not only about staying rooted in prayer. Preparation leads somewhere. It positions you. It equips you. It assigns you.

Today we look at Joseph.

Joseph was 17 years old when he was sold into slavery (Genesis 37:2). He was 30 years old when he stood before Pharaoh and was elevated over Egypt (Genesis 41:46). That is approximately 13 years from the pit to the palace. Thirteen years of waiting. Thirteen years of long-suffering. Thirteen years of shaping.

Nothing was wasted.

Joseph’s betrayal was not wasted. His imprisonment was not wasted. His delay was not wasted. God was building something in him before He built something through him.

Galatians 6:9 (CSB) reminds us,

“Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.”

At the proper time.

There is a proper time for your elevation. There is a proper time for your influence. There is a proper time for your strategy to be released.

Joseph could not have managed famine at 17. He needed maturity. He needed discipline. He needed leadership training. The long-suffering was preparation for weight.

Some of you have questioned your process. You have wondered why it has taken so long. But the process is shaping your capacity.

Now watch what happens when Joseph stands before Pharaoh.

Genesis 41:33–36 (CSB) says:

“Now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this: Let him appoint overseers over the land and take a fifth of the harvest of the land of Egypt during the seven years of abundance. Let them gather all the excess food during these good years that are coming. Under Pharaoh’s authority, store the grain in the cities, so they may preserve it as food. The food will be a reserve for the land during the seven years of famine that will come to the land of Egypt. Then the country will not be wiped out by the famine.”

Joseph did not just interpret the dream. He offered strategy. He presented a plan. He thought ahead.

God does not position His people only for survival. He positions them for solutions.

This is something we have not yet fully emphasized in this fast — God wants to release inventive ideas. Creative solutions. Downloads that help not only you, but others.

Joseph’s strategy preserved nations. Not just Egypt. Not just Pharaoh’s house. Nations came to Egypt during the famine. His obedience became provision for multitudes.

That is commissioning.

Genesis 41:39–41 (CSB) says:

“Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are. You will be over my house, and all my people will obey your commands. Only I, as king, will be greater than you.’ Pharaoh also said to Joseph, ‘See, I am placing you over all the land of Egypt.’”

Placed.

Positioned.

Commissioned.

God is purposeful. He does not waste pain. He does not waste delay. He does not waste discipline.

And here is the heart of Day 3: Are you prepared to steward what you have been praying for?

We have prayed to be the head and not the tail. We have prayed to lend and not borrow.

Deuteronomy 28:12–13 (CSB) says,

“The Lord will open for you his abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward…”

But blessing follows obedience. Elevation follows preparation.

Joseph could manage abundance because he learned faithfulness in lack. He could steward influence because he had been faithful in small rooms.

Now reflect honestly:

• What has my process taught me?
• Where has God been building capacity in me?
• What idea or strategy has the Lord already whispered that I have delayed acting on?
• If famine came tomorrow — spiritual, economic, or cultural — would I be prepared to help others?
• What creative solution might God want to release through me for my family, my community, or my sphere of influence?

Today, do not only ask God to bless you. Ask Him to use you.

Ask Him for ideas that solve problems.
Ask Him for strategies that create stability.
Ask Him for wisdom that preserves households.
Ask Him for insight that positions you ahead of disruption.

Joseph did not rise for applause. He rose for assignment.

Genesis 50:20 (CSB) says,

“You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people.”

The survival of many people.

Your obedience might not just bless you. It may preserve others.

Pray the Word today:

Galatians 6:9 — Lord, keep me from growing weary.
Genesis 41:33–36 — Give me strategy and discernment.
Genesis 41:39–41 — Position me according to Your purpose.
Deuteronomy 28:12–13 — Teach me to steward abundance wisely.

Declare this aloud:

My process was preparation.
My waiting was shaping.
God is positioning me with purpose.
I will not grow weary in doing good.
I will steward strategy.
I will be a solution in times of shaking.
I am commissioned.

Day 1 we called.
Day 2 we consecrated.
Day 3 we are commissioned.

Now move when He speaks. 🔥👑
