Scripture Reading:
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."
—Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
When God redeems you, He doesn’t just restore you to where you were—He moves you forward into something greater. Sometimes that journey requires us to step out of our comfort zones and trust that God’s plan is better than anything we leave behind.
Think about Ruth. She didn’t just leave Moab; she walked into Bethlehem and found not just provision, but a legacy. God used Boaz as a kinsman-redeemer to redeem not only Ruth, but also Naomi. That’s the beauty of God’s redemption—it reaches beyond us and touches those around us.
And just as God redeemed Ruth and Naomi, He’s still in the business of redeeming us today. He’s the same God who led Joshua and the Israelites into the Promised Land, making a way where there seemed to be none.
Reflection Questions:
What areas of your life do you need to trust God to redeem and restore?
How can you step out in faith, like Ruth, to embrace the new future God has for you?
Who around you might also be blessed by God’s redeeming work in your life?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being our Redeemer. Just as You redeemed Ruth and Naomi, we trust You to redeem and restore the areas of our lives that need Your touch. Help us to walk forward in faith, knowing that You are making a way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
